The Turin Giants Appoint Former Italian National Team Manager Luciano Spalletti

The Old Lady have appointed former Italy boss Luciano Spalletti to take the helm until the end of the season.

The experienced coach steps in for Igor Tudor, who was sacked after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio last weekend.

Tudor had joined the club in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but exited following a seven-month stint at the end of an eight-match winless run.

Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup during Roberto Mancini's tenure.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 where they were knocked out in the last 16 by Switzerland.

Nonetheless, Italy dismissed Spalletti in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, putting Italy in danger of missing a third straight World Cup.

Spalletti's managerial career includes Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Serie A and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese which left them seventh in Serie A - trailing leaders Napoli by six points after nine matches.

Their Champions League campaign sees them in 25th place in the group stage, having lost once and drawn twice in their opening three matches.
